Celebrate Monday

Happy Monday everybody. It’s time once again to celebrate ourselves. Tell us about something good that happened to you. Something that made you happy. Something that you did that made you feel good.

It doesn’t have to be big news or anything earth shattering. Small is good, too.

Today I want to celebrate my weekend. I may have spent most of my waking hours this weekend in a car crisscrossing four states a couple of times and done nothing at all productive, but for the first time in a long time all four of my kids were home at the same time. Yeah, their friends were all here as usual, but I found I was strangely nostalgic for that.

Mother’s Day was nice with dinner and cards and presents. And yes, I did get chocolate.

I hope you all had a great weekend and that all the moms out there had a wonderful day.

And yes, I'd like to celebrate and thank all my new followers. If you've recently started following and I haven't returned the honor, it's because your profile doesn't show up and I can't find you. Drop me a comment and I'll be happy to follow you, too.

Now what about you? What’s happy and/or good going on in your life? Share it with us and celebrate yourselves.

  1. I'm glad you had all four children home. Happy belated Mother's Day.

I ate well this weekend. Friday night I had bbq burgers. Saturday we had a couple of friends over and ate good cheese, Mexican corn soup with lemon, and fish tacos. Yesterday, my husband made me eggs Copenhagen, for lunch I had Thai noodles, and for dinner my husband cooked potato gratin and friend calamari.

Now I've probably gained five pounds.

  3. Good Monday morning to you too! The chocolate and the kids sound great. My son sent me flowers for the first time and they are beautiful-roses and lilies and many I can't put a name too. On the creative side, I penned a poem about the canes at my parent's house that are our new reality. Here's to a good week!

  4. I had a wonderful Mother's Day with home-made gifts from my little one. Plus a spa giftcard from my hubby. Yay, me! And, even better, my kids didn't whine, fuss, or fight ALL DAY yesterday. Which is, like, amazing. And the best gift of all!

  6. I finished the fence with the help of my Dad this weekend, and finished the blog thing that I promised myself I would finish and got a bunch more chapters done for my beta so it was a really productive weekend. Mother's day was nice but cold. Sounds like you had a fab weekend.

  8. Happy Monday to you, too!

I had a great weekend, full of family events (not even thinking of mother's day). Monday is always a bit of a two-sided thing for me... lovely weekend, but back to work again. But it's a new week, a new start, and the weather is beautiful today...what more could one want?

  9. Happy Monday, and happy belated Mother's Day :)

I spent my day with my family and my closest friend. We took the kids to the park and they played in the creek while we sat on the grass and basked in the sunny 68 degree (glorious!) weather, chatting away :)

  11. Happy belated Mother's Day to you! Sounds like you had a lovely day. My weekend was one of discovery, finding myself again and realising that life is good. Needless to say it involved a good friend and wine. Hee! :)

  12. Ah, sounds like you had a very special Mothers Day! Good for you. Sadly there are no mothers in my life, but I have enough lovely memories to carry me through endless lifetimes.

  13. That's wonderful that all four of your kids were all together at once. That must have been very special for you. I'm not a mother, and my mother lives too far to just drop by, so my partner and I just watched movies and ate souvlakia. That was nice :)

  16. I worked yesterday, but when I got home, I had a great day. My middle son was busily cleaning the house, even vacuumed my room. My oldest came home from work with monster cinnamon rolls, and gave me the gift from him and his brother. It was the make-up I wanted but feel guilty when I splurge on it. (Bare Minerals), plus they got all the free goodies with it like a tote bag with matching bracelet and watch.

My daughter gave me coupons for various household chores and favors.

And we had chicken from my favorite restaurant. Very nice day.

That's good too. Almost as good as chocolate ;)

  23. Happy Monday Evening!

A lovely Mother's day for me, with a few hours of solitude to finish the first installment of a serial I've had accepted by a UK magazine. I'm feeling like a writer again! Yay!
