It was a busy blogfest weekend around here. I hope you all had a great one.
Here we are again at Monday and it’s time to celebrate ourselves. Tell us something good that happened to you. Something that makes you happy. Something that you did that made you feel good.
It doesn’t have to be big news or anything earth shattering. Small is good, too.
I’ll start. This weekend I finally screwed up my courage and submitted a short story. Even if nothing comes of it, even it’s not accepted, I’m thrilled I got over my nerves and hit send. And that makes me happy.
So come on, folks. Celebrate yourselves.
Good job! :0) Small steps equal bigger ones in the long run.
ReplyDeleteJust had a first day out at the seaside this year, golden sands, wide smiles on my little boys face, fish n chips, donkey rides, bouncy castles - what memories are made of!
ReplyDeleteGood for you, I'm so proud of you! You'll be published in no time.
ReplyDeleteI'm only half way through with my 'chores' but that's okay. I've still got time to finish them.
Congratulations for submitting your short story that's the first step!!! You rock!!!
ReplyDeleteI was a bridesmaid in a wedding and my sister had her baby this weekend!!! I'm so happy about it!
Good luck on the short story. It'll happen! I just had a short story published in Full of Crow and received an acceptance from Pure Francis for a poem in an upcoming issue. That made me very happy!
ReplyDeleteOh boy, good luck with your short story! That is an act of courage. :)
ReplyDeleteThis weekend we went out and bought a nicer TV. My husband is pretty happy about it.
Congrats on sending out the short story. I'll keep my fingers (and toes) crossed for you ;-)
ReplyDeleteAnd let's see...this weekend I sprawled out in my front yard and read good book. Ahh...relaxing ;-)

It's amazing how spring can reinvigorate. New life outside, new resolve within for vital projects.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on sending out your short story! That's the first step.
ReplyDeleteEr, I don't know what I did this weekend other than edit, played with the kids, and clean the bathrooms. :D
I got to celebrate some milestones with some close friends--a graduation and an ordination--so it was a very festive weekend all around. I met another writer at one of the parties and we hung out in a corner talking blog platform for almost 40 minutes! LOL.
ReplyDeleteGood for you submitting a story! I have other good news: an award for you on my blog. :-)
Congrats for submitting a story! Let's see--I am keeping up my walking! Yeah! Some days I have to push myself, but other days it's a joy.
ReplyDeleteYay for this happy post, and congrats on your short story!
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I put a down payment on our first home last week (no more renting) and I'm very psyched about moving!
Yea for submitting. Best of luck!
ReplyDeleteYay! So happy for you!! that is happy news!
ReplyDeleteAnd mine is, my kiddos are all safe and just about over the illness :)
Well done for submitting! That's great!
ReplyDeleteAs for me, I had a great lounge in the spring sun on Saturday, finished some edits... and I feel pretty good!
And I'm happy for you, very happy that you hit "send".
ReplyDeleteKick them out of the hard drive, let them get some fresh air and sport some rosy cheeks! :-)
My celebration? I discovered that my 8 year old niece plays PacMan with an incredible hand/eye coordination, very unlike her useless old aunt.
And I'm proud.
I was asked by a stranger what my job is and I said "I'm a writer" without hesitation. She gave me the look all writers have become accustomed to but I'm still pleased that I identified myself as a writer.
ReplyDeleteI'm very excited for you! When/if you're willing to share I want details :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to say that I started a blog again and posted a story for Tara's bar scene blogfest...and got three reads! I'm also feeling reinvigorated after a short trip with some good friends. My hubby finished painting our kitchen and it looks grand. All in all a very good week.
Any time you submit a story, you're submitting a piece of yourself and that's brave and something to be proud of :) Congrats and good luck, I'm excited for you! I read your murder blogfest entry and I thought it kicked major butt. I love your writing, you will go very far!
ReplyDeleteWe MIGHT be getting an offer on our house, which we've had listed for 11 months. :-)
ReplyDeleteGood for you submitting a short story and good luck!
ReplyDeleteSmall thing - after seeing the new Alice in Wonderland movie, it got me thinking about my manuscript, and last night, I had a breakthrough about the MC. You never know where inspiration will strike.
Happy Monday and good luck on your short story!!
ReplyDeleteWay to go -- I'm proud that you submitted. Can't wait to find out the results!
ReplyDeleteHere's my good thing: I bought and started DEVOURING Jay Asher's THIRTEEN REASONS WHY. It is amazing!
Congrats on your submittal! That does feel good, doesn't it? Well, I didn't do this over the weekend, but last week I figured out how to include my facebook link on my blog. It took a lot of tries and a lot of help from Jackee at Winded Words, but I finally got it to work. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks to everyone for the well wishes and congratulations. And thanks to you all for sharing the good stuff. It helps make us all happier. :)
ReplyDeleteYay for submitting a short story! I've for my fingers crossed for you. My good news was I signed up for a writer's conference. I'm absolutely over the moon about it.
ReplyDeletesubmitting...that's inspiring! Had a great weekend playing outside in the elements (I still haven't figured out blogfests entirely. will keep watching).
ReplyDeleteThat's great that you submited your short story! That's my next goal. I'm happy I completed my portfolio, for the new blogs I have explored, and the new followers.
ReplyDeleteWell done, you! :o)
ReplyDeleteI went out and had a lovely steak dinner with my man for his birthday :o))))
