Ok, so how many of you looked at the post topic today and thought to yourselves (or out loud) is she high? I mean, why would you celebrate Monday? Well, no, I’m not. But I was thinking that lately a lot of us have been dragged down and slogging through the muck and the mire of real life or the writing/revising process or anything else that makes us forget the good things that happen or that we do.
So I thought that maybe we should take time out to recognize and/or remember the good things. And since I don’t have a theme day yet for my blog, I thought Mondays might be a good time to do that. So here on Mondays we are going to celebrate ourselves and the good things/people that make us happy. It doesn't have to be big. Sometimes little things are the best.
I’ll start. See that lovely award up there that I got from Karen? I’m thrilled that I have found this lovely community that is so supportive and sharing. A community that has been generous beyond belief in welcoming me to it. Being part of this group of creative people makes me happy and moves me. And I know that the award has been around for a while and that a lot of people have received it, but it makes me happy to pass this award on to anyone who would like it.
Another thing that makes me happy is contests. Susan is running one to celebrate her 100 followers. Go here and check it out.

ReplyDeleteToday I'm thankful that it's Monday and I leave for Los Angeles in a few days! Something to look forward too! I am excited to go home and start revising my first draft, I've allowed time to rest from it and now it's time to pick up the pages and see what I can do!

ReplyDeleteI'd like to celebrate meeting a small writing goal I had for myself over the weekend. Now I can return to work with a sense of accomplishment.

ReplyDeleteI like Mondays because my husband has night class, which gives me an extra 4 1/2 hours to write! Also, I'm excited for this Monday because my in-laws are coming tomorrow to help me plant my garden! Been giddy about this for a month, and now it's finally (almost) here!
ReplyDeleteToday's happiness is spilling over from yesterday. Hubby and I took the kids to The Botanical Gardens in Athens, GA. It's run by the university and it's gorgeous. We picnicked, then discovered a nature trail that runs alongside the Oconee River. We had such a magical time and the weather was hot and sunny. (*smile*)

my children laughing hysterically, makes me INCREDIBLY happy.
the close relationship i have with my family.
my stepmother coming out to cali to visit us tomorrow (from Tennessee) and staying for a whole week!!
having a backyard full of beautiful blooming roses.
a driveway to park in (we used to live in a condo community and would sometimes have to park very far away.)
the smell of my husband's aftershave hours after he's gone for the day.
beautiful, sunny days with a nice little breeze....
those things make me very happy. =)
