Six months

Given all the end-of-the-year whining and worrying I seem to have become mired in due to the heat, the humidity, the mad push toward final exams and closing up the classroom, the lack of progress on my WIP, as well as all kinds of other things, I thought I’d take a break from it.

I read somewhere around the blogosphere that most blogs fail within the first six months. In my current state, I missed celebrating the fact that I started this blog on January 1st and that June 1st was my six month anniversary. That I’ve made it here is in no small part due to the warm, kind, generous welcome and interaction all of you have shared with me. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support as we all take our writing journey together. I really do look forward to continuing that journey together.

  1. Woohoo you go girl!!! Glad to see you are still with us and strong as ever! I had no idea that most blogs died after 6 months, though it doesn't suprise me! If I hadn't gotten anyone to follow me and become good buddies with I probably would have stopped blogging a long time ago!

I'm soon to be approaching my 6 month mark, about a month away still!

  2. Congratulations! That was something I didn't know. I'll be celebrating in October. Did you get my e-mail by the way? I figure you've been so busy, you don't even have time to breathe let alone read an email.

  4. My six months is in a few weeks. It's not wildly popular or anything, but that's cool. I started it to connect with other writers, and I have. I've met great people like you!

  6. Hey, we have the same blogging anniversary. :-) And I've definitely had blogs fail in the past--the difference this time was that I actually reached out to make connections. Now I can't imagine all of you NOT being part of my morning routine.

  7. Oh, I love your new header and color scheme. This blog hasn't failed. Blogs only fail when people stop reading and commenting. Taking a break is perfectly valid. I've done it lots of times.

I think the longest I lasted was a week. *wink*

  8. Hmm. 6 months? I haven't blogged in a week, does that mean I've failed, lol?

Your blog is one of my faves: always short, sweet and to the point (a good point at that) :)

  9. y'know, in the blogosphere, six months feels like forever, right? I've written so many posts and so many words..and I've learned a lot in the nine months I've been blogging. Recently, I learned that the M-W-F schedule suits me the best...how did I have so much to say for so long? Your posts are always genuine and I appreciate that.

  10. Blogs don't fail!

    Bloggers give up.

I've had my blog for years, now, but only recently started poking my head out of my hole and reading what other bloggers are writing. The company has been nice.

    Congrats.

  11. Congrats! You've done well for six months. I've had a blog for over a year, but I fiddled around with different topics for awhile before I started seriously networking with other writers. Eric is right--Blogs can't "fail." The blogger just decides to stop or stay.

  12. wait, maybe my math is wrong (and lordy, it could be) but wouldn't July 1st be your 6 month anniversary? I think you need to get through June to have been blogging for 6 months.

At least, that's what i've been going on (Cuz i too started on January 1st! WOO HOO! Start date buddies!)

  19. Six months - hooray! I hadn't heard that about most blogs failing within six months. I'm not even exactly sure when I started mine - either October or November - so I guess I've passed that milestone, too. :)

  20. Yay!!!! Congrats for passing that milestone! I didn't realize that about the 6 month mark. Cool I passed that a long time ago. And I'm glad you're not abandoning us in the blogosphere. We would miss you.
