TGIF

Once again, another Friday. The end of another long, brutal week. My brain is fried and I cannot seem to form coherent thoughts. I must be getting old.

Anyway, every once in a while I write for a challenge, and this is what resulted from one of the last ones I did.

111 words of dialogue only. :)
***************************
“This is your fault.”

“Is not.”

“Is too.”

“Is not.”

“Fine. It’s not your fault.”

“See? That wasn’t so hard, was it?”

“Not nearly as hard as this.”

“Yeah, well…”

“Well, what? This was your idea.”

“My idea?

“Forced Family Fun. Or don’t you remember saying Come on babe, the kids will love it?"

“Yeah, well…”

Well, what?”

“On second thought, that was really a bad idea.”

“Not nearly as bad as your last one.”

“Don’t remind me.”

“Need I remind you there’s a video?”

“Nope.”

“Or that said video has been tucked away for safekeeping?”

“But we are still stealing it, aren’t we?”

“Of course we are. Right after this.”

  1. LOL this was really fun to read... I love that I was able to get a good idea of who the characters were without even being introduced to them!

  2. Hee! Thank you very much.

The challenge was to include three lines: 'It's not your fault'; 'On second thought that was a really bad idea'; and 'But we are still stealing it, right?'

I love to play with dialogue and usually write entire pages of it for scenes before writing anything else like tags or descriptors.

So this was the result of that. :)

  3. Great challenge Sarah. Really fun post. And a conversation all of us have had at one point or another. Great job.

  4. Hee! Thank you. :)

It's sometimes fun to just let go and not worry about all the other elements.

  5. This is the kind of verbal skirmish I would LOVE to see on screen!
Until then I'll watch the movie created by your words and play it again and again, because it's too good for just once! :)

  7. Nym-hee! And thanks. I would love to see anything I write on the screen. :)

SW-Thank you. I'm pretty sure I've said those words, or some variation thereof myself at some point. Great minds and all that. :)
